Looking to get a better sound from my laptop(the stock speakers are really tinny and lack depth) but do not want to spend over $60
Was looking over a set of powered speakers to use by coming out of my headphone out jack.
Here are two that are said to be pretty good for the money?

and

which of these would be better for sitting at a desk and listening to music and for movie watching?

Really just looking for a rich, full sound with some good depth at pretty low volumes.
I wont be cranking the volume much at all, i would be listening at a volume that is a little louder than a TV.
The sound it has now is very thin and tinny, with no depth.
My laptop has altec surround sound with dolby
it is a HP g7 2233x pavillion

Yes thanks, i have no way to test them live so going by overall reviews the T12 2.0 system has the better reviews of the two.
it was voted best system for under $50 and best overall value,
I can use my Dolby surround utility to increase the bass some and EQ them.
Pretty confident the Creative Inspire T12 set will sound 1000x better than the stock speakers.

All line level audio inputs are 1 volt peak to peak and if u have dolby u can plug it into your home theater if u have one either by splitting the headphone out jack to twin rca's or just some tv's have digital audio in jacks

Yes thanks i am doing that with my 55" HDTV and my desktop so those are using up that source of audio.
I just ordered the creative audio T12 set for $45 and just have to hope that sound good enough.
everyone that bought them said they actually sound surprisingly great for the $$$

Just wanted to update this and say i just got the "Creative inspire T12" powered speakers and tried them out. Wow! i gotta say for the $45 they cost me i am blown away!
The sound much better than i thought they would and the build is also really good and solid!
Anyone looking for smaller, inexpensive but pretty big sounding speakers for their laptop or even desktop
i definitely give these a thumbs up!
On a scale of 1-10, including sound,value,construction i would say 8.5 easy!

yeah i went with Creative inspire because i did not really want a separate sub woofer.
The Inspire set sounds real good and is very portable if need be.
does not take up extra space on my desk.
Compared to the stock altec surround speakers in the Laptop these creative T12's are in a totally different league in tone.
it is like comparing a am radio to a home stereo system in sound.:D
