problem 300D to pc

i can't download pics from my canon 300D to my pc windows 8 ,keeps coming up saying " camera windows not compatible with detected camera " can some one help please.

You might be better off by inserting the SD card directly into the computer. If your computer doesn't have an SD slot, buy an external card reader. The card will then show up on your system, where you can drag and drop all of your photos.
