I need help from you guys because I just can't seem to figure out which is better:

AMD A-Series Quad Core A10-5757M 2.5 GHz (4 MB Cache) Radeon HD 8650G integrated

or

Intel Core i5-4200U 1.6 GHz (3 MB Cache) with NVIDIA GeForce GT 820M

I'm getting conflicting advice on which one would be better at running a game like Skyrim for example. One gent told me number 2 because the NVIDIA has better scores and another told me the first, because the APU clocks much higher, at 2.5-3.5 as apposed to the i5 at 1.6-2.6.

I'm trying to decide between two laptops that are otherwise acceptable for my everyday needs. Bottom line, which one will run better fps in a typical game? Any thoughts?

Skyrim overwhelmingly favors Intel CPUs vs. AMD CPUs. At the bottom is a benchmark from 2011 when Skyrim was released. It includes the Bulldozer generation FX-8150 (3.6GHz) and a Sandy Bridge i5-2500k (3.3GHz). When using the same graphics card (GTX 580) the FX-8150 maxes at 50 FPS while the i5-2500k maxes out at 67 FPS (34% increase).

The AMD A10-5757m is based on the Bulldozer generation CPU. The i5-4200u is based on the 4th generation Haswell CPU design (Sandy Bridge was 2nd generation). The i5-4200u maxes out at 2.3GHz when both cores are used and I think the A10-5757m maxes out at 3.2GHz when two cores are used. Based on the difference in clockspeed, I would say that the AMD a10-5757m should be able to provide pretty close...

The GT 820m is pretty similar to the previous GT 720m in terms of performance. The Radeon HD 8650g is a bit better. Overall, the laptop with the A10-5757m will probably give you a little better performance in Skyrim because the Radeon HD 8650g is a bit more powerful (not much though) and the CPU capabilities of the A10 should be close to the i5 in Skyrim.

Here a lnk to some benchmarks for the GT 820m.
