Solved! Prozor HDMI Switch

I bought a Prozor HDMI switch to connect my laptop to a projector, using an HDMI/VGA cable from laptop to projector. i can now get sound from the speaker connected but no picture. The instructions on the Prozor switch are too technical for me.

What exact cable are you using? You did not really say much about the setup, is the laptop HDMI out and projector is VGA or other way around? How is everything hooked up?

I have a cable with VGA at one end, linked to projector and HDMI at the other end, linked to my Lenovo laptop which has no VGA slot. I have a speaker plugged in to the laoptop via a jack. When I use this on its own, I get pictures from the projector but no sound. I need sound as there are interviews on my PPT presentation. I'm hoping that the Switch will enable both pictures and sound. Thanks for your help.

If you now have audio with using the HDMI switch, it may be an issue with the cable you are using. HDMI to VGA needs an active adapter, if you just have some cable with different ends, that could be the issue.

Also you could just go to the laptop audio setup and set the default audio device to the sound card and jack connection instead of the HDMI connection, have you tried that? You may not even need that HDMI switch.
