Solved! Purchased a new battery for my Galaxy J5 but can't get it to charge?

Purchased a new battery for my Galaxy J5 but can't get it to charge? My old battery still charges but doesn't hold as long as it did when new, hence buying a new one. It tries to charge but just vibrates. I've tried turning off phone, putting in battery with or without charger lead, still the same. Phone won't turn on with this battery at all. Can anyone help? Or is it a faulty battery?

Yes it may be a bad battery. If it's a cheap copy, it's pretty likely it's a bad battery, they have a very high failure rate.
