R7 M265 vs GT 840M

Hi, planning to buy a laptop for gaming but a little low on budget...The laptop with m265 is cheaper so I wanted to know how well these both graphics do comparatively in games like gta 5...specs are A10, 1TB, 8GB, M265 2 GB....other one is the same but with I7 and 840M graphic....But this one is approx $200 more then the other one...

Go with the second option. Both the cpu and gpu are much better for gaming.

The laptop with the 840m and i7 would be the go but depending on how much you really need a laptop I would suggest you go with a cheap desktop because of the more powerful components.

Thank you for the suggestion...The second one is somewhat stretches the budget and I might have to opt for a EMI or something....Any idea how the first one would handle the games like gta 5...

Actually I was looking for a laptop due to portability...I am in college in a different city and travel every weekend to home...

If we leave the second option, how well would the first laptop perform for playing games....mid high settings...

The first laptop is very poor for gaming as both the gpu and cpu are too weak to play gta 5.

They are similar, but the 840m has the edge on the M265. They're still pretty similar.

As for A10 vs i7, the i7 has the edge but not by much if it's a ULV i7 (eg. 4500U), as those are barely above the ULV i5s.

Here are the 2 laptops I am considering....

I don't mind few FPS down on the A10 laptop, because this one is considerably cheaper then the i7 one...

I7 is a 5500U, A10 is still on par?
