Razer Kraken Pro not working

I recently bought a Razer Kraken Pro headset/mic the only thing is when I have it plugged into the computer with the included split jacks, it does not work. I tried it in other devices I have and it works like there is no issue. my computer is a scratch built. my previous headset I had was a USB Turtle Beach P11. Any help in getting the Kraken Pro to work will be very helpful. Thanks

It sounds like the jacks on your laptop may be the issue.

You can try replacing the jack(s), or you can get an adapter for the headset so it can work through a USB port. Either would fix the issue.

When messing with headsets that require the use of your current sound devices jacks, you also need to mess with changing the volume levels (although I would hope the headphone part is working just fine?) as well as the default recording device and recording levels. This is done with all those sliders in your volume control, but since each chipset maker likes to put in their own panel the method to access it varies. It shouldn't take much to figure it out.

These are he cheapest, and most difficult types of game headphones to setup. USB based headphones simply show up as its own audio device, and just requires that you make it the default record and playback device.

I solved my problem, it appears that the back jacks are not working, So, I tried the front jacks and I have sound and the mic works, really different sound than what I normally hear, but if it is better than the headset I had then i'll take it. So, my issue is solved, I am so happy.
