Rca receiver to 55" element tv sound

Trying to hook my rca receiver to my new 55" element tv

I can't give you an exact answer without model numbers.
If the TV has optical audio out and the receiver only has analog audio inputs you will need an optical to analog converter.
Check the TV manual on how to use the optical audio out. Check the TV audio menu to make sure you can set the audio output to PCM stereo. If not then you need a converter that accepts 5.1
