REaltek Subwoofer Control?

Alright so I recently started putting time in to get my audio settings exactly where i want them to be ( no sound card just yet :[ ).

And i noticed that when i turn off subwoofer in my realtek settings my bass quality goes considerably up. Blame it on my lack of audio knowledge but why is that? Definitely thought having it on would give me that fun punch we all love but i suppose its the opposite???.

P.s i'm rocking the Logitech z906's

How are the speakers connected to the computer? Just by the 3.5 mm single output? If that is the case, use the setup you have that sounds better.
