Receiver to Tablet using a HDMI cable

I'm a tech who installs dish. Some of the people I install for don't have TVs in the rooms they want the receivers yet. So instead of balling a small TV around in my truck I was wondering if there is a way to go from the receiver to my tablet. (Has to be hdmi) I bought a MHL HDTV Adaptor. But it didn't work or I'm not figuring it out.

Tablet and laptop and most PC HDMI ports are OUTPUT only. You'd need a PC with a caputure card that has HDMI for this.

So you need to have a small TV with you.
