Greetings,

If You're strictly on a budget, this is minimum I'd go for:

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E531 6885-EYG + extra RAM [at least 4 gigs to current one] + Intel 530 240 GB SSD drive, if You want to feed the 3D Studios Max cache with some faster space. You can create the 1TB internal drive with external box into Your external drive.

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 - here is everything You need, just watch out for faulty displays. Get the i7 version! Get the 128 GB SSD version!

HP ProBook 650 - this is a knight in shining armor. Get this version: Intel Core i7 4702MQ Haswell, 15.6" LED 1920x1080, RAM 8GB DDR3L, AMD Radeon HD 8750M, HDD 750GB 7200, Windows 8.1 Pro + buy Intel 530 240 GB and replace with 750 GB.

HP ProBook 640 - this is Your dream, but he costs a lot [around 1k euro]. Intel Core i7 4702MQ Haswell, 14" LED 1920x108, RAM 8GB DDR3L, Intel HD Graphics 4600, SSD 256GB, Windows 8 Pro 64-bit - preinstalled Windows 7 Professional. In general this will take care of all Your trouble. Nothing to upgrade in here. Sufficent ram and sufficent SSD space.
