I'm looking to buy a new laptop for school with those specs. I'm not going to be doing any gaming whatsoever so integrated graphics will be fine. However, I don't know too much about what brands/models of laptops are good.

Do you guys have any recommendations?

For a reasonable price, good customer support on the web, and reliability, I can recommend Packard Bell. I bought my wife one six years ago and it's still going strong, never needed any repairs and never needed to re-install the OS.

Under 1k USD. Preferably I'd want it to be cheaper than close to that amount, though. I guess the SSD isn't absolutely necessary however I'd like to have one. How much would it increase the price by?

Hi BigBobby. As per your PM, that Zenbook IS a good unit, however there are probably similarly suitable units for less. Plus, that's a 13.3" model which is rather small. Unless you need ultra portability, I'd recommend at least a 15" model.
I think for what you want, this might be your best option.

Click the above link to go to the Flex 2 models. Click the yellow "next" box to the right and it's the last model. The only one with an SSD. Has i7, touch screen and SSD but it IS a 768 resolution, not 1080p. For your usage, since you're not gaming, that shouldn't matter.

Wow that's an amazing deal. Thanks man.

Anytime. Be sure, if possible, to get it while you can as those weekly deals change all the time. No telling what day that might end. If it ends before you can pick one up, we can always find another deal.
