Question Recover from "garbage"

I am using a tablet with Android 10. I use it mainly to read newspapers, magazines or books, which I have downloaded with my desktop and then transferred via USB to the tablet.
I found Xodo to be by far the best reader. After reading something, I usually delete it, and sometimes I mistakenly delete something by accident. Unlike a Win computer, Android has no garbage folder, from which anything deleted by accident can easily be restored.
As Android does most certainly not really overwrite such a file when deleting, like any OS it only removes the access to it. Which means, that file must still be on the SSD inside...

Is there a way to get access to it?
