i have a acer and it coming up with pxe e61 media test failuer check cable and operrating system not found

It can't find your hard disk. The HDD might have failed or the connector to the HDD might have come loose (check cable suggestion).

You may not need to reformat if it's just a loose connection.
You won't be able to format the HDD till you fix the problem.
