Reformatting Gateway XP

Need to upgrade my windows XP to a newer operating system. I cleaned hard drive and now I cannot make internet connection through my Wi-Fi service or by tethering to my cell phone. Is there any way of correcting this problem?

You have to install the OS, and then install the drivers for your WiFi or LAN hardware.

After I reformated the hard drive I ran the Windows XP disk the came with the Gateway Laptop. At this point I was unable to connect to the Internet using my Wireless WIFI or by tethering to my cell phone.

Does the WiFi software see any available networks?
You might just have to tell it to connect, and tell it what the WiFi password is.

Yes I've done that but it doesn't connect.
