Hi all,

Yesterday I rented an additional Hi Def Cable box through cox. in our house we already have a DVR on our main Tv. I was looking through the Cox website for my area and under rentals it has the Hi Def DVR and the Hi Def Cable box listed at the same price. Is this true? Can I add a second DVR for $7.99 a month instead of the hi def cable box?

The cable box I got yesterday is defective. I was going to exchange it today but can I exchange it for a dvr instead? Does anyone have 2 DVR's rented through Cox?

Thanks,

Rich

Hey guys-- It isn't going to happen--If I am not being lied too by a certain family member there is a $15 set up fee and it is $18 per month.. That is fine with me but I sure as hell don't run this household.. lol

I have a new problem now--I received the cablebox yesterday and couldn't get it to work.. We exchanged it today for another one and I am having the same issue..

I run through the activation process and then I get - Try Later-- I can see the guide and all of the info is there but I cannot watch any channels..

I have tried the Power Cycling etc.. I can hook up the same cable to my tv and watch tv fine..I just cannot active the darned box.. Heeeelp pleeaase..

Thanks

Are you on the phone with Cox Cable when you're trying to activate the box? From my experience with Comcast, they need to send out a signal to your box to activate it. I usually keep them on the phone until it's working (normally no more than a couple minutes after they send the signal). If it doesn't work, they have to reset/resend the activation signal or code.

-Wolf sends

Yes, I did all that--called on the phone etc.. I can see the box downloading the data but still no channels-- I left it on all night last night and still nothing..On the phone I was told that things were probably just slow and that it would most likely "work itself out"..

and yes--I followed instructions-There is some kind of an issue or a problem--it should be working but it isn't..
