Solved! region free blu ray

I'm looking for a region free device. I had an older one handed off to me by a friend, I have BluRay/DVDs from Britian, USA, and China (my Buffy collection, oddly, came from there). I went through a phase of buying collections from Amazon.co.uk before they became wise to the free shipping overseas...dvd/blu-ray was generally quite a bit cheaper after conversion. So here I am with a global collection and nothing to play it on apart from a desktop.

All my research says you can not buy a new untampered with device. Am I wrong? Where do I get a region free bluray? Or is there a way to jerryrig something not too bulky to the TV? I'm really tired of watching things on my desktop.
