Hi folks, I'm trying to remove the keyboard on my old Satellite 1135-S155, and I can't find any info on how to do it. I had done it years ago to disconnect the trackpad ribbon, but I can't for the life of me remember how to do it. I've loaded the machine up with Chromixium and want to give it to someone so they can have it to access the web, and I'd like to reconnect the trackpad ribbon for them.

If anyone knows specifically how to do this, I would appreciate it. Different Toshibas have different ways to remove the keyboards, and I haven't found the proper way for mine. Thanks for any help with this.

many Toshiba models have
a "trim strip" above or below the keyboard that snaps out, then you can
remove the keyboard (most commonly with 4 screws). The flex cable from
the keyboard goes to a ZIF ("zero insertion force") socket on the
motherboard, you MUST unlock the socket to remove or insert a cable into
it. If you don't, you will ruin the cable.

Is there a long thin panel above the function keys? If so, then that panel needs to be popped off and then there is (i think from memory) one at the bottom of the keyboard. Pop this off too and that should expose the screws holing the keyboard in.

Been a while since i took mine off as well!
Good luck and i hope this might help.
K.
