Considering dismantling my peltor ear defenders that I use at work to attempt replacing the original speakers with some better once. Got an old razer kraken pro headset at home, thinking of using that.

First of all, the headphones (razer kraken) have a circut board inside. Whats the purpose of this? Amplifier so that the minijack is able to power the speakers? If I were to move the speakers over to my ear defenders, would I have to include the circut board aswell?

Also, the peltor ear defenders got built in FM-radio, and runs of 2 x AA-batteries. How would this affect the razer kraken speakers?

Solution
The speakers should both be full range drivers. Assuming they are the same size they should swap out without a problem.

The circuit board in the Kraken is probably a sound card for fake 7.1 surround. Not at all needed.
