I have an old Sharp XV-Z2000 (720p) that apparently needs to be replaced (won't display a 1080p properly). Here's my scenario.

I have a 100" silver theater screen that I would like to utilize.
The room is light-controlled; no particular need to overcome extra light.
The current unit is mounted on the ceiling, about 12' away from the screen. The rest of the electronics are in the back of the room (about 16').
There's a new Onkyo 626 amp that is the center of the setup, so everything is going to be HDMI.
3D is not a factor; no other components support it and I really don't care for it.

Some brands that came up in my initial search are BenQ, Epson. Ideally, I'd like to keep the budget below $1500; this is basically to hold over until 4K drops to something reasonable (ie, 3-4 years or so we hope).
