If you are just starting to learn about or address sexting and cyber bullying, you are way behind in understanding and / or educating society about the real current digital diseases.

Did you know tens of thousands of times a day private digital content is being stolen from "password protected" social sites, file sharing sites, file storage accounts, personal computers, and digital (video) camera cards?

Did you know that this same content is being exploited across the “dark” areas of the web as free adult content on adult websites and message boards?

If you did not know this, not only are you way behind in understanding digital disease, but depending on your lifestyle, you may also unknowingly already be a victim.

The Institute for Responsible Online and Cell-Phone Communication had the foresight to think ahead as they exclusively created and communicate nationally an effective proactive “cure” or solution to both current and future (yet to be developed) digital diseases.

I don't see the long term validity of the claim of this article. In the Philippines (arguably one of, or THE text messaging capital of the world), I don't see teens losing sleep mostly due to text messaging, I haven't seen any real problems with thumbs even with some of the avid text messagers I know. Most lose sleep because of either TV or surfing the net (Youtube, facebook, actual research/work(?)).

People have bigger problems to worry about, economy, money, jobs, more money, and for others sex.

Who gives a flyin' F*** what psychologists think. What about common sense. Why do teens even need cell phones? I see 7 and 8 year olds with cell phones; why?...."All my friends have one" That crap don't fly. I never had time for texting because of chores, sports, or homework... oh yeah, one more reason, I DIDN'T HAVE A DAMN CELL PHONE! ...."Oh but it lets me know where my child is all the time." Bulls***, my parents always knew: where I was, when I was supposed to be there, and when I was supposed to be home." They weren't tyrants; they were loving parents whom I had a healthy dose of love and fear of. Yeah I got my ass tore up, but I am not an abusive parent like some psychologists have predicted. I spank my child, not to be unkind, but to teach consequences for bad behavior. It's a sad day when the worst fear that you can instill into a child is "I'm gonna take away your cell phone!" I have seen parents do this and witnessed the hateful actions followed by the children. I was never bold enough to slam a door or even give a look of discontent to my parents. Sure I may have shot my mouth off to my brother or sister, but never in front of my father. Parents should be parents and stop trying to be their kids best friends or both at the same time.

How is teens texting in the 2000s any worse than instant messaging in the 90s or talking on the old land line in the 60s, 70s and 80s?
