Resilient Laptop for sub £1000?

Hi,
So basically I saved up £1000 for a gaming computer, and then my budget laptop that I bring to school broke. I figured I could kill two birds with one stone by getting a gaming laptop, but I haven't found anything that really works. It doesn't really need to be light, but it does need to be resilient, so it doesn't break in my backpack.
Any suggestions?
