I really hope that anyone who reads this article is fully aware of the Real ID card. A US national identification card that is implanted with an RFID chip in it already. This article seems to portray that RFID tracking for humans is a couple years away. When in fact the Real ID card is set to come out, at least in preliminary stages, next month in May 2008.

Now I have no objection to a national identification card to show you are truly who you say you are. What I do object to is having an RFID chip implanted in the card, giving the government and who knows else the capability of tracking my every move. RFID tracking of humans outside of say a hospital or jail, is a massive breach of our personal privacy. Or rather what little privacy we have left as individual human beings.
