Do I need a Min. of a 5MB modem to watch live streaming movies?

Bear in mind if you have any videos with ac3 sound, this player will NOT play them. Learned that the hard way. Even a 5 year old WD player can hardware decode that.

Agreed. I returned mine and picked up a MINIX Neo h8-Plus
Could not be happier unloading the Roku and changing product.

I'm not sure what you mean? You can take the Roku and attach it to another TV... sure. It's not tied to a specific set (although you may have to change from 1080P to 720p)
But it only has a single HDMI out.
