Question Router placement, apart from modem?

I am switching to a new service provider. I will have a separate modem and router. The location of my router is not central but my desktop will be connected via ethernet, in a room in that is all the way at the end of the house. The desktop will remain connected via ethernet. Can I place the router in a different room of the house, and if so, how?

I don't at the moment. No matter what, I have to physically connect the router to the modem via ethernet cable? I'd have to run a cable through multiple rooms of the house?

Yep. That is the way they are typically attached (unless using a combo modem/router device, I do not recommend those typically).

Do you know what device will be coming via your new ISP?
