It is really hard to get excited by the iPad rumors. As soon as I buy one and it comes in from backorder or I brave the crowds for hours Apple will release an upgraded version.

Apple release tablets once a year. This is quite a slow release cycle - many companies release more frequently than that.

People who bought an original iPad can still run iOS 5 - it's still supported.

I'd expect Win8 tablets to launch at some point after Win8. Namely, later this year.

[citation][nom]eddieroolz[/nom]A 7.85" iPad is more believable than 2048x1200 something resolution screen, but still not very believable.[/citation]

actually, a smaller screen sounds like a good idea - ideal for quick pick-up and checking 'something' on the web, or answering an email - short-term usage, not long web surfing sessions. And who wants to watch a movie on a 10 inch screen anyway?

Haven't ppl been talking about a smaller screen size since the iPad 1? I doubt it. Possible, now that Jobs is gone, but I doubt it as Apple's big into the consistent experience thing.
