Any laptop can be used w/o the battery as long as it is plugged into the A/C outlet (sometimes referred to as "the mains").

It could be that the motherboard is defective, or power connection inside the laptop is defective. At least that's my opinion. It's best to bring it to a technician to determine the fault.

I have an external power supply but the PC will not power up.
I have 2 flashing leds on the battery level indicator. I think the motherboard is defective.
I do not have any operator manual and the maintenance manual from the internet does not
show any description regarding the battery level indicator.
