Running RCA to sub amp.

Hi all
I am reinstating an old sound system.
Now i have come to hook up the RCA and i find Y splitters.
My question is can i run the RCA from the Sub output then divide to a single cable to run through the car and the Back to two RAC cables into the amps input?
As its a mono signal will this work??

It should work fine. It would only be needed if you have 2 subs or a dual voice coil sub being driven with both channels.
