I have the same problem with my K53e. 1 4 5 stay on for some time then 6 flashes and the process restarts.

Sorry, I was following a very early post on a k53e motherboard that had leds 1 4 5 light up then 6 flashes and everything shuts down. process repeats. Possibly old, so could not post there. I have tried reseating the ram, disconnecting everything except the ram, putting in a new cmos battery also. Motherboard is a new one, processer and rams are old ones. The old motherboard has a short so went for a new one.
