Question Samsung 49" led tv has a wide dark vertical band on screen

From your question, do you mean without actually opening the TV and replacing the screen? No chance of that. At least you would need to check the screen connections and system board, or replace the screen. Replacing TV screens is pretty much never done outside of warranty since screens are hard to get.
