My suggestion to speed up your phone is to turn off the screen animations.
You can do this by going to "Settings" then "Devoloper Options".
Next scroll down and select "Window Animation Scale".
From there you can choose to "Turn Animations Off" which will make the screen transition faster.
Other than this, and removing any erronious apps you may have that are slowing your phone down, and clearing out any old unused data, there is really no other way to speed it up.
