Samsung galaxy tab 4 charging

Have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 that was charging all night and only got 3%. Now it's been charging for an hour and it says 1%. Can someone please help me to get it full charges?

It may be a dodgy/old /damaged lead, try another if you have one or buy a new one
Are you charging with the tablet off?
Blutooth off?
Wifi off?
Some of these apparently loose the connection with the battery, and need something inside re-soldered, hopefully it's just the cable
