ok so my screen went grey u can see it lighting up but theres no picture...the digitizer still works theres just no picture on the screen..is it something inside i have to replace or?? im so lost

It may help to know the exact model. You could look up replacing the battery of your model on you tube. http/www.youtube.com/watch?v=laUabgL5syU

Just resetting the battery may bring a result.
