Samsung has become far too complacent — and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 proves it

And, to add to this assessment, there is a glitch in the Fold where the screen(s) just die. Black out. Phone still works. Just a black screen. I've had the Fold 5 for 1.5years. Now, the inner screen is useless. Grrrrrrr. Software issue, hardware issue, I don't care. It's wrong and nothing has fixed it nor does Samsung care. This kind of consumer treatment should be illegal, with real life repercussions and compensation.

If it wasn't caused by damage (screen cracking, etc...) your phone should still be covered by warranty. Samsung phones have 2 years of warranty coverage. Also, no your problem isn't common. I've used multiple Folds for multiple years and have never had a screen just die for no apparent reason. The older Folds with the 1st Gen UTG glass (Fold 2/3) were notorious for cracking down the fold-line but that's not what you are describing and was largely fixed with the 2nd Gen UTG that debuted on the Fold 4.

This article is absolute CRAP!!! Not having a "normal phone screen width/aspect ratio" cover display like the 20:9 OnePlus Open is a GOOD THING!!! Not a bad one!

If you make the cover screen wider it makes the inner tablet screen more SQUARE, aka worse for both watching widescreen media in landscape and scrolling through vertical app feeds in portrait! Aka, literally the two single most popular/common mini-tablet use-cases! This is why the ≈9:8 Open absolutely SUCKS for watching media on (almost half the screen is black bars!!! 🤦).

The Fold 6 is the best balance between front screen and inner screen aspect ratios you can get. The front screen is more than usable with the same 22:9 aspect ratio as every Z Flip while the ≈7:6 inner screen is still significantly more rectangular than something like the Open or upcoming Pixel 9 Fold.

Samsung not making the front screen even wider has absolutely nothing to do with "complacency" and everything to do with balance.
