Samsung TV h.265 Upgrade

A firmware update can only modify the internal software, it can't add or change the physical hardware in the decoder chip itself.
Now if the decoder had the capability but the software was lacking then yea a firmware update could turn it on but I tend to think that if it was there it would have been turned on from the get go just for advertising benefits

Hi popatim, thanks for the prompt answer.

In reply: That's why I would think it would be a firmware update as opposed to software. I've encoded my movies with "user-end", processor intensive h.264 parameters (listed below) and playback is perfect. With that said, do you still think that the processor in this smart tv isn't powerful enough?
