Samsung TV picture is going dark and brightness setting is as high as possible

My Samsung TV is getting darker and darker. I have the brightness setting all the way up and no change. I am assuming it is a light or lamp of some sort that needs to be replaced as it is 12 years old. A great TV and I dont want to buy a new one right now. Any idea of what it might be or what part I need to replace to get the picture back to normal? Thanks!

for what I see as well looks like lamp replacement time ?

Replaced the lamp today and I can't even remember the TV being that bright!! Just remember to take the screw out that holds the lamp housing securely in place.

seems to of brightened things up for him ??
