Satellite dish with non HDTV

Hello,
I recently purchased a DirecTV Model 24HD non-DVR satellite receiver. I purchased the HD model thinking that in the future I would purchase a new HDTV for our spare family room. However, the TV I currently have in that room is a non HD TV (a 2004 model Emerson flat screen) that does not have a HDMI port. The TV only has a coax cable antennae port. Since I am not a whiz at this type of thing, can anyone tell me if there is a way to connect my non HDTV to the new HD satellite receiver? Can some other type of connection be made and if so, how and with what? Can RCA video and audio cables in combination with a S-video cable be used? Or can Comnponent Video Connectors be used. The old receiver that I had before had the coaxial cable antenna out port but the back of this new receiver looks foreign to me. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Probably your best option would be to contact your DirecTV reseller and ask for a converter box.

Mine has RCA outputs for a VCR which would plug into your TV.

I am in exactly the same position as you were in. What was the outcome? Were you able to use the HD transmitter with the non-HD TV?
