screen blinks when usb or caplock is pressed

Can Anyone help me. my laptop hp touchsmart is giving me trouble. each time i plug in a usb or remove it or press caplock or numlock the screen blinks to black and returns okay. what is the problem?

Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help in solving the issue.
- Start with a hard reboot, unplug it from its AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then boot it back up then test it again.
- Next to try is to do a clean install of the graphics card driver that may be the cause.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the graphics driver.
- Check Programs and Features and uninstall anything related to your graphics card.
- Once done, download and install the latest driver from the manufacturers site. (Nvidia, AMD or Intel)
- Reboot your PC once the latest driver has been installed.
- After the reboot do test it again and see if the same problem will persist or not.
- Do also check for any driver updates for your USB controller that may help.
