Screen Lock Problem

I have an LG G3 smart phone. I have the screen lock turned on with a designated tap pattern to open my phone to the home page. Last week someone 'updated' my phone (or something like that- not sure exactly what they did). I had to reset my screen lock and chose a different pattern. After sitting unused for more than an hour I picked up my phone to use it. The new pattern will not open to my home page. I am panicking. I can't get onto my home page to be able to get to my settings to turn it off without unlocking it. What do I do?

Thanks for the information! I understand that position. I was very panicky last night. It never dawned on me (I'm a very honest person) that what I was asking for is what criminals do. I am very embarrassed. Lesson learned. Thanks for not "YELLING" at me! As it turns out, after trying my new tap pattern at least 50 times I somehow tapped where it needed to be tapped and it just opened up. I immediately changed to a number code. Thanks again for your help.
