Screen turned blue

My granddaughter has an Asus laptop (X55C-WH31 Notebook CPU Intel) operating system Windows 8. She got an email instructing her to upgrade to Windows 10. When she tried to upgrade to Windows 10 it lock her out of her computer and the screen turned blue with an Error code: 0xc000000f. We could not do anything with it and she did not have a backup thumb drive. I have a Asus desktop (ASUS G10AC-US009S) and I had a backup thumb drive for my computer. So I used my backup thumb drive to get her computer going not really knowing what I was doing. So now it is working but not the way it is supposed to. So my question is how I can get the correct backup for her computer.

her laptop has a recovery partition so do you want to restore it back to factory defaults?
