SD card blank. Lost pics and IM messages

Yesterday I plugged my Droid (older model) Samsung Google phone into my laptop docking station to charge the battery. I let it sit for maybe 20-30 minutes and when I unplugged my phone I lost all pics and IM messages. Also, says my SD card is blank. Any suggestions?
