Hello, a day ago we received an email from "USPS" claiming that we had a package waiting, and that we needed to click this link to receive and print the order form. Unfortunately, it was clicked and the virus injected itself into the computer. Long story short, the virus came from Mexico and the objective was to collect passwords and usernames. This caused us to freeze accounts, put a hold on payments, complete password changes, etc. We had thought we had the virus removed when a paid technician came in and worked on it.
We have experienced the following problems now:
--> Cannot access the internet. (Other computers/tablet can within the household.)
--> Computer shut off on its own once so far.
We have updated and used the following programs in hope to remove any unwanted bugs:
--> Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
--> Microsoft Security Essentials
So far nothing has been found. My questions are is the problems listed above could be caused by the virus? Has anybody heard of anything like this before? Any advise or help would be greatly appreciated.
