Two U.S. Senators have introduced a bill that would mandate and enforce the digital security of automobiles, protecting them against hacks similar to a recent "white hat" attack that took control of a Jeep Cherokee driving on a Missouri freeway.

Another "Pat myself on the back, look how we have protected you again" bill that does nothing. It is very vague, as usual. What are "reasonable measures"? Has the IRS implemented "reasonable measures" to protect our information? They got hacked. Has the DOD implemented "reasonable measures"? They got hacked. If you are connected to the internet, you are hackable. Period. There is no stopping it. The perfect code is like a unicorn, it doesn't exist.
