Shorted toshiba P755 while changing screen

Shorted laptop. I was changing the broken LCD screen in my( ex-wife's) Toshiba P755, battery out, but I forgot the plug was in. Connector cable to screen sparked at connection point. Now no lights,no response at all. Is it a total loss?

Hi,

Chances are yes it may have damaged the laptops motherboard itself. But do try to still proceed on connecting the replacement laptop but this time make sure that the AC adapter is disconnected and see if it would turn on after you've replaced it with a new one and hopefully it would still work.
