So for a budget of between £250-300GBP (correct me if I'm wrong), your probably better off going for used. A couple of builds here which you should consider:

(This one is what would likely be ideal for you since it is a fairly budget system but should perform quite well in most games. It is a real bargain at this price especially if it is as new as advertised).

(Has a suprisingly expensive GPU for this price but doesn't say exactly what CPU it is, could be a good buy)

That computer is pretty basic, it doesn't have an external graphics card, it's onboard with the CPU chip (APU). It will play Fall out 4 @ 30~ FPS on lowest (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7satrHTo2QI). Bare in mind that the computer has no operating system, and probably has a very basic cheap power supply as well.

(Bit of a wild card this one. It is only £115 which means that you could afford to add a new GPU and PSU for about ~£160 and still be close to what you wanted to spend originally. The Q8400 isn't the greatest CPU but might be alright).

The first one should be your ideal build since you get a fairly decent CPU and GPU. The other two make compromises on the CPU. Feel free to keep looking but here's just a few ideas to throw out there. By no means are these builds the best out there, but they may be just good enough for what you are looking for.

Second link is a Pentium D processor, which will bottle neck the GTX 660. I'd advise against this machine. Your first link is great though. I'd go for the first PC as the performance/cost ratio is by far the best.

you make a good point but surley if the video card was failing you could report them? Also surley they wouldnt offer the 2 year warrenty (even though it costs alot) for a failing computor also my parents wouldnt let me use it till my birthday in august but they would let me test it and all that beforehand so they knew it wasnt a scam :D

Sure you can try to return it, but then you will be dealing with boxing the thing back up and sending back, waiting to get money back, then looking for another system, etc...

Unless I can test it, I avoid used systems, especially home built ones containing better video cards since those tend to be another point of failure over basic ones with onboard video.

For a used system, I get used business class towers with a Core i5 or Core i3 CPU with 300+ watt power supplies and then just buy a lower wattage card like a 750Ti for it.
