I will use it for school and watching movies. It would be about $520 with taxes and shipping & handling which seems pretty cheap to me.

Netbooks can watch movies fine. My friend streams movies on it when we're out of class. Your laptop will definitely be fine. The i3-380 will be better than the AMD cpu despite being an older generation now. AMD still haven't caught up yet. If you want more graphic powers, there should be llano around. You should check future shop too. :]

That's a pretty good bargain and it will do all the work listed very well.
I didn't see any better options up at NewEgg.ca
Will check the NCIX website for you to see what they have.

Nothing at NCIX looked as good.
Futureshop has very similar Acer Aspire 15.6" Intel Core i3-380M for about $20 less.
Check the 'overall cost' and see how compares. If it's still only $20 you might want to stick with the Asus over the Acer.
