Should my tv stretching settings be set to wide or to smart?

I need to know whether my tv settings should be set to wide or smart.

Could you give more details on the tv? Set it to smart. Smart means auto, so the tv will adjust depending on what you are watching. For example if you are watching a blu ray movie, your tv will leave the picture as it is because blu ray movies don't need to be "wide" or stretched. However if you are watching an older video (4:3 aspect ratio) the picture would look boxy and you would get those black bars on the side or bottom but your tv would adjust it automatically to get rid of them. So set it to Smart

Try it and see what suits you best. It's not an irrevocable decision. Many people don't like black bars when watching 4:3, others (self included) want an accurate picture rather than an unnaturally stretched one.
