Simoutaneous listening using my Yamaha AV Receiver RX-V679

I have a Samsung UN65KS800 TV and it is hooked up through our Yamaha RX-V679 Home Theater system. All sound comes through that. I want to use either my Blue tooth LG HBS900 headset or a new Sennheiser Flex 5000 unit I purchased since it allows for optical hookup. I know the TV offers BT and my LG BT headset does connect. It does not get sound though...Can anyone help me hear TV again without making everyone else leave the room?

Is the surround sound system connected to the TV with HDMI-ARC?
Use an HDMI audio extractor to provide audio out from the HDMI-ARC.
If you use optical out to the Yamaha then split that and connect the transmitter there. The Sennheiser will sound better than bluetooth anyway.
