SiSOFT is worthless

Yes, I know its a 'synthetic' benchmark. But I can't even call it a benchmark. Benchmark's measure speed, SiSOFt just examines the components, and calculates what the speed SHOULD be. Go to
http://www.overclockers.com.au/techstuff/a_speed_cheat/
and see how absurd of benchmark results you can create.

When you measure, you are limited by that which can be measured.

I wouldn't go with Sandra for benchmarks neither; I only use it for system information.

I find SiSoft Sandra very useful.

Sure it's useless for comparative benchmarks between different machines, and can be misleading when benchmarking upgrades.

It's great for system information, my favourite method for troubleshooting other people's PC's.

It has helped me track down problems on machines dating back as far as 486's, when the benchmarks clearly showed a problem with a machine's performance.

I guess once you get to know it well, you understand what it can and cannot do.

If it does what you want, then it's useful.

And it does do a lot of what I want in terms of system information.
