Sleep apnea detection finally comes to Apple Watch — here's how to set it up

How does merit a “finally” headline other than as clickbait? It’s not like waiting for two years for copy/paste, and it’s not a normal feature on other smart watches.

It's been a long-rumored feature for the Apple Watch. Earlier this year, Samsung debuted sleep apnea detection, but there are several other wearables that also offer similar features (like the Withings ScanWatch range) or products like the Oura Ring which use blood oxygen levels during sleep to flag breathing disturbances (which can be a sign of SA). But due to Apple's patent dispute Masimo around the Apple Watch's blood oxygen sensor meant that the company had to develop an alternative way to detect breathing disturbances with the accelerometer. In that context, "finally" fits.
